Argenta Earth & Fire Co. is the home and studio of potter, Mimi Patrick. It is located 1 mile south of Virginia City or approximately 25 miles from Reno. The gallery and studio are housed in a vintage schoolhouse in Gold Canyon where precious metals were found leading to the discovery of the Comstock Lode. Gallery hours are normally 10 am to 5 pm each day unless the fishing is good. My production includes one of a kind pieces as well as sets of functional ware. I am continually exploring new forms for the garden and home. The pieces include wheel thrown ware as well as slab constructed vessels and often combinations of the two. All the pottery is made from stoneware or porcelain clay - fired above 2400 degrees in a Bailey downdraft gas kiln. All glazes are food safe. In addition, many pieces have carved sculptural knobs and handles out of porcelain or wood.
