July 2010 - Random Thoughts
July 3, 2010 - Into another month and this one will be something else. Knee replacement surgery on 7/12/2010. Not looking forward to this, but life should be better after it is over. Then it will be back to clay with a vengeance. The show at the SMACenter came down last Thursday. Many pieces sold. The remains are back in the gallery along with the new pedestals. It was real work to set it up again.
7/4/2010 - 3 more little square dishes to finish today. Need to get the weedeater out too. Then there are pots that need photographing. Can I get it all done?
7/5/2010 - The answer to the above question is "NO". No weedeating and I screwed up all the photos I took of pots. Get to do them over today. I did finish the square dishes, but it seems like a small feat in retrospect.
7/10/2010 - Trying to tie up loose ends this weekend prior to surgery. I hesitate to start something new in the studio, but would love to put one of the big baskets together - like this one.
7/22/2010 - 9 days after knee replacement surgery and I am itching to get back into the studio. Did roll out a slab the other day only to find that I was so shaky and lacking in stamina that I couldn't put it together. I am not having a good time with this.
7/23/2010 - Staples come out of the incision today - know this will makes things much more comfortable. Maybe down to the studio tomorrow.
7/25/2010 - Tried to work in the studio yesterday, but still too weak and shaky. Ended up sitting in a chair falling asleep.
7/26/2010 - A big wind came through yesterday afternoon and snapped off one of the tall, skinny locust trees. Sounded like a crack of thunder.
